Step stools are incredibly useful in any household, and a simple wooden step stool is easy to build. Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating one that’s both sturdy and stylish.
Materials

Tools Needed
Miter saw or circular saw
Drill and drill bits
Wood clamps
Sandpaper or sander
Steps
Cut the Wood Pieces
Cut the 1x12 pine board into two pieces for the base (12” x 12”) and the sides (12” x 6”).
Cut the 1x6 pine board for the steps (two pieces 12” long).
Assemble the Base
Attach the two 12” x 12” pieces together using wood glue and screws, forming the base.
Add the Sides and Step
Attach the two 12” x 6” side pieces to the base to create the frame.
Attach the 12” x 6” step pieces on top.
Sand and Finish
Sand all surfaces smooth and apply the desired finish to protect the wood.
